Instructor Biography: Robert Wiseman

Robert L. Wiseman who is currently the branch manager for Ascent Home Loans, Incorporated was born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1977. He attended Baker University on a football scholarship, in 1994, located in Baldwin City, Kansas, where his major course of study was in business finance. In 1997, he enlisted in the United States Army, and his MOS was in special intelligence. In 1998, he received the distinguished recognition of Soldier of the Quarter. After departing from military service, Robert returned to the familial home, located in Victoria, Texas, and assisted his family in opening a small clothing retail store. In 2002, Robert was solely operating the store, and was overseeing the business and marketing end of the everyday activities. In late 2003, Robert relocated to the metropolitan city of Houston, Texas, and began working for Ameriquest Mortgage Company. His hard work and drive earned him the Influencing Branch Excellence certificate as he was top producer by closing 10+ units monthly throughout his tenure there.  From 2004 to 2007, Robert worked in the wholesale mortgage industry for a mortgage broker.  In mid 2007, to the present, he has been working in the mortgage banking industry, and is currently the branch manager of Ascent Home Loans. At the beginning of 2008 Robert anticipated the change in the mortgage industry and started investing in pre-foreclosures by successfully negotiating short sales with various banks. He implemented a strategy whereby he would negotiate a discount with the homeowner’s bank and then purchase and re-sell the property to an end buyer….all in the same day! His background in the mortgage banking industry has helped him realize significant profits in the preforeclosure/short sale arena in a relatively short period of time.

As of April 2009, Robert Wiseman has been a member of Toastmasters International (TI), a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills.  He currently holds the position of vice-president of membership for his home club, and he was recently nominated to Area Governor.

Robert Wiseman is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, the Houston Racing Triathlon Club, and the USA Triathlon Club. He is currently in training for the October 18, 2009 triathlon held in Houston, Texas.

Robert is constantly striving to improve himself, and takes every opportunity possible to enhance his leadership qualities. He attended the following seminars, Creative Leadership for Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders, Speak with Confidence and Clarity, and Managing Emotions Under Pressure. All of which, he completed and received a certificate. Additionally, Robert recently participated in a Microsoft Excel seminar which enhanced his computer skills.
